Dev Log 2 - Virtual Environment Interactions

Hello everyone!
It's time for another development update on My Ordinary AR Life. We've been refining interactions to make the world more immersive and engaging. This devlog will cover new player interactions, the VR HUD, and our first mini-game!
Player Hands: What can't they do!
I’ve added a virtual hand system, allowing players to pick up objects and holster on to them. MOAL has a lot to interact with, and the hand system is a great fit especially since it's first person VR.
Once you've grabbed an item, you can now use the awesome power of science and physics to throw it. Just charge up your throw and watch the magic happen. The throw is influenced by how long the wind-up is, making aiming dynamic and rewarding.
To keep with our theme of providing the player more Interface and Information, when the player has equipped the VR headset they can see their current charge percentage. If there isn't enough power in a throw it will simply be dropped instead.
First Mini-Game: AR Basketball
With these new systems in place, we’ve implemented our first mini-game: AR Basketball. For this we wanted to create a basketball game, where instead players must throw trash into a bin. Equipping the VR headset adds a twist: Virtual moving basketball nets provide an optional challenge along with visual flair.
This feature ties into our narrative, demonstrating how augmented reality can transform simple tasks into immersive experiences. We plan to further integrate the VR UI into gameplay and storytelling.
Looking Ahead
With these mechanics in place, My Ordinary AR Life is coming together. Next, we’ll refine systems, add interactive elements, and expand the VR HUD’s role.
Thanks for your support, and stay tuned for more updates!
